After a sleeve you should be able to eat almost any foods, so fitting in with family meals should be relatively easy. A few things to consider though:
– Your portions will be smaller (using a bread & butter plate, rather than a dinner plate)
– You should focus on the protein and veg portions of the meal, rather than the grains. For example, if your family is having a stir-fry, you should eat mostly the meat and veg and have less of the rice.
– You may need to modify slightly if you have some food intolerances after surgery. For example, some people are sensitive to fatty, rich, oily or sugary foods and/or dairy. In these instances you may need to get a little creative with what you serve yourself.
