Usually you’ll be eating most foods by about 8 weeks after your sleeve. The timeline that we use in our clinic is that you will see me, the dietitian, and your surgeon at 4 weeks post-op. The surgeon will check that they are happy with you from a surgical point of view and I will talk with you about starting to progress from purees to normal foods. There are certain foods that are harder to eat than others: steak, dry chicken breast and raw carrots or lettuce, for example, but by the end of the month (at around 8 weeks post op), you should be able to eat all of these. The key is to concentrate and take them slowly!
