Have you found your way into the podcasting world? I am obsessed! It’s a fabulous source of entertainment and information and you can listen while driving, walking, doing the housework. I’ve also been listening to some podcasts that focus on weight loss surgery so I thought I’d share my top recommendations for you if you have a sleeve! Please feel free to also comment below if you have any more suggestions.
What you’ll notice below is that there are very few podcasts specifically for WLS that I like. I find some of these to be not so evidence-based and can actually perpetuate myths. Instead, what you’ll find below are a lot of fabulous podcasts aimed at helping with mindset, our relationship with dieting, food and our bodies, and those that help with forming new habits.
This one is American, but still has some really good information about all types of WLS. The episodes feature all types of medical professionals working in WLS as well as patient stories.
Glenn is a psychologist from Australia who focuses on losing weight and managing the WLS journey from a psychological point of view (as well as other areas of health!). I’m a big Glenn advocate and I think pretty soon you will be too.
These three podcasts all look at developing a healthier relationship with food – something almost all of us could do with! Try all three, they’re quite different and you’ll probably find you gravitate towards one more than the others.
Does your relationship with your body need a rethink? This is the podcast for you. Discussing strategies for body kindness and intuitive eating, Rebecca Scritchfield really helps you put things in perspective.
Not WLS-related, but a really good, practical podcast full of simple tips for changing habits and how to tackle areas of your life that might be bugging you!
So tell me – what are your favourite podcasts? Is there one here that I’m missing? Comment below and let us all know!
